The Place Rail Track form lets you add a new rail track to the track plan or place a rail track that is already defined in the system on the map. To prevent an error when assigning a rail transfer point in N4 Mobile, the track plan and the rail track should have the same origin side. For example, if the track plan is drawn in a clockwise direction, the rail track should also be drawn in a clockwise direction. You can resolve an origin side mismatch between your track plan and rail track, by using the FLPTRK setting to flip your rail track. For more information, see FLPTRK.

To place an existing rail track:

  1. In the Place Rail Track form, from the Name list, select a rail track.

  1. In the Track Width field, enter a value up to 2 that specifies the width of the track, in meters.

  2. In the Spot Length field, enter the length of a spot, in meters.

The Spot Length field is not available if you are placing an existing track onto a relative track plan. See Types of track plans or Steps to configure the track plan in Yard Editor (on page 1) for more information.

  1. Click Save.
